Masks! Our new normal. This adult size has three layers of material (quilters cotton) with an interior pocket. There is also internal wire to fit the top around your nose. If you want to add your own filter, the CDC recommends a non-woven material, such as vacuum bag.

HILDA masks can be machine washed and dried. Like quilts, washing handmade items by hand will prolong their lifespan. Don’t be alarmed when your mask comes out of the laundry looking like a crumpled piece of paper. I’ve found ironing it before wearing again is most comfortable, steam those pleats back into place.

Although some hospitals are accepting this style of masks, they are not medical grade! The CDC recommends covering your face with 2+ layers when out in public, especially when 6-foot distancing is difficult (like the grocery store). Please continue social distancing, and even better, stay home.
